So.. Here's the cycle of 5ths. I know there are those that call it the cycle of 4ths. I say let's stick to the original nomenclature and everyone call it the cycle of 5ths. I've made a detailed chart in standard and TAB notation for practicing chords, scales and harmonic patterns through the cycle.
Here's an easy and practical use of the famous "Coltrane Chord Matrix" in a Bb Blues in both standard and TAB notation. Be sure to check out the companion video on my YouTube channel.
Here it is folks... If the last note of the melody is the root note of the key you are in (ex. ending on F note in the key of F) You can use this chromatically descending chord sequence starting a tritone (b5) away from the root chord.
